Film
Tempo, texture, tension, twist and much more … in sequential stories and interactive narratives.
The first fascination for cinematography and filmic narrative was found in the films of Ozu Yasujiro, in 1989. Making a book on Satyajit Ray in 1990-91 and a series of exhibitions and texts as well as speaking about his work allowed me to explore then what was a storyworld, and this would be later called a “transmedia” piece.
In 1994-1995, I was selected for two EAVE (European Audio Visual Entrepreneurs) programs: the film production one in 1994 and the interactive fiction one in 1995. In 1996, selected as a Japan Foundation fellow, I worked on the cinema of Imamura Shohei. Tokyo Vignettes was a video piece resulting from this stay in Tokyo, connected to film and urbanity. In parallel, between 1994-1998, I was co-producer to the film State of Dogs, co-directed in Mongolia by Dorjkhandyn Turmunkh and Peter Brosens.
In 2005, I made a video installation in resonance with the work of Ritwik Ghatak.
In 2006, I was involved in the “Bombaysers de Lille” India Festival and gave talks about Indian cinema.
Conferences on films by Satyajit Ray in France, on Ritwik Ghatak at Berlin transmediale 2006.
